Great Family Resort--from waterparks to wine festivals!

I attended the wine festival with my in-laws and stayed in the galleria. Because we had 2 teenagers (age 14 &18) with us we got a 2 bedroom suite. It was GREAT! Even though the rooms are not very fancy, they are very functional. My Inlaws took the Queen bedroom, There were twin beds for the kids and my husband and I got the sofabed in the living room. We had a big kitchen and lots of room for all of us! The thing i loved about the galleria is how much there is to do there! We dropped the kids at the waterpark while the adults went to the wine festival. After the festival we went down to the Tikki bar at the Lodge and relaxed there enjoying the beach area. Next time we want to come back when its NOT the wine festival so we can actually enjoy all of the stuff they have to do there!

I recently went here for a work related event. It was deplorable. Filthy carpet, smelly room, stains on the seat of the sagging chairs, mold in the bathroom, tiny tv, broken handles with sharp edges on the dresser, no toilet paper, dusty bunnies and cobwebs everywhere. The phone didn't work, no in room wireless, the staff never answered the phone, the pool was disgusting, it was dark and damp, every activity was an extra charge, you had to pay $1 toll every time you left the grounds and wanted to return, the staff was rude when you could find them, the mattresses were stained with something that looked like blood, the light fixtures didn't work, the tv remote didn't work...ghastly from beginning to end.

attended a retreat of 1000 people and we were treated as though we were the only guests there, it was so wonderful to relax and enjoy ourselves, great grounds for walking and the view of the lake during dinner is a nice touch

11/23/2006The room is spaceous. more then enough of the staff is helpful and friendly. if you want a relaxing get away this is the place.
