    Hard to believe that there are no reviews about this resort here on Travel online site that are close to "recent" vintage! Our stay was in October, 2009 for 3 days, mid week, as we do our best to visit when the leaves are changing color and when the children are still in school. This is best done by planning way ahead. We booked in February and rolled the dice! We got lucky and the weather cooperated. But we missed the best color by 1 week. My advice- take the chance. Otherwise, this place fills up and you must tolerate children. Q- Are the rooms all so small? Ans- yes! At least every room that I could peek inside if while housekeeping was working on it; Q- is the breakfast any good? Ans- yes, good and pricey! Better alternatives can be had but you must drive at least 10 minutes away down the mountain and into the traffic back in or near Bushkill Area. Q- did your room have a view? Ans- no! We were disappointed. That view of the review is not readily available. Too bad. I t looked great on-line. Me thinks that these views are held in reserve for the privileged few just in case they decide at the last minute to visit. I even tried the old show the $* trick at check-in but it din't work. Maybe a $* bill would work? Q- Would I stay here again? Ans- yes. I love the location. I especially enjoy the porch and the views off the porch. I was mad at myself for missing the fall foliage show. Do you homework and book ahead. Fall is THE popular time to visit the poconos. This place has "old" charm and a fabulous location. None better.

    we went to this hotel for a friend's wedding. It was awful, not worth the price. You dont get breakfast and you have to pay excessively to eat dinner. We were surrounded by loud children even though we had gone to get away from ours. There is NO sound proofing. The matress was so ard I scraped my knee on the edge!! The thermostat didnt work, we turned it down to 65, but the heat never shut off, with the window wide open it was 80 in our room when we woke up. So we asked to be moved and they exiled us to a separate building where we were the only people. The matress was a little softer, but there was a HUGE dead bug in the very strange round tub (there was a separate shower). This hotel seems like it hasnt been removated since the 70s, it needs some serious updating. oh yeah and only a few of the rooms had WiFi....DONT GO HERE!!!!! it was terrible.

    The hotel has nice staff and a lot of personality. It's almost like stepping back in time. But the food is expensive, there is no decent breakfast unless you want to pay more than $15. The rooms are ok, but there is a problem with hearing noise in the next room. I was woken up at 1am by my neighbors frisky behavior, and every sound was audible, I might as well have been in the room with them. This lasted until 2:30am. Then they sat up and talked loudly for about another hour. I was there for work, and needed to get a good nights' sleep in order to complete my job and drive home to Pittsburgh the next day. They need to make some effort at having sound proofing done for the comfort of their customers.

    They did not honor our coupon for $10 off with purchase of an entree. Also, charged an extra $10 for sharing an entree without informing us - the entree price was raised by $10 (from the menu price) on the bill without explanation. The service was below adverage and the food was good.
