We have no real nagatives to report. We are not party people so the need to spend our evenings at the highrise end of the island was not that important. We did make the trip north for dining using the bus service which was a great value and an opportunity to see different areas. The hotel was close to the airport and the car rental lolcations. The private beach was great. Quite, relaxing and a nice ride to and from. The staff were very helpful and met all our needs. Overall, I would say we were pleased and would use there hotel again.

Good location, good service. The main beach is a little small, but a short walk provides a much better beach on the same location and not many of the guest use it. The only goofy thing was if you want to go night swimming they don't let you use the pool and ask that you swim in the sea. But otherwise the hotel is a good choice and quick to downtown as well.

very happy overall, our room was all you could ask for when you travel to a beach destination and only want to spend a short time in your hotel. staff was friendly and helpful, room was clean, beds were awesome, and our very own private island was perfect. my only complaint was not being free internet access in the rooms. Lugging around a laptop is uncomfortable at best and looking for free wi-fi wastes time. would stay at this hotel agian

I recently stayed in the Ocean Suites section of this hotel - BAD IDEA! The rooms are misrepresented on the website - water pressure extremely low, toilets don't flush well, and overall condition of the room was old and run down. They did not clean my room one day, and took speaking to 9 people to finally get my room cleaned. The maid asked me if it was ok if she did not clean my room as there were many checkouts and she was busy! The food was good at the hotel and the location was decent, my complaint would be overall service at the hotel. The private island was very nice, but planes fly directly overhead to land and takeoff at airport so very loud! The Marina hotel was much nicer, but again, service was a problem. Will definitely return to Aruba, but definitely will not stay at the Renaissance again. This hotel is so far below the quality that would be expected of a Marriott hotel.

Overall it was GREAT! Heres the good stuff: Private beach Great hotel staff Good gym Not too crowded #40Feb-Mar#41 Pool is very nice and cool music was playing all the time near the pool Walking around the town was fun Room was kept very clean Grounds are spotless LG Smith Steakhouse is awesome. Weather is absolutely perfect! 5 minutes from airport. Overall relaxing fun romantic atmosphere. I hate screaming annoying kids and I didnt have any problem with that thank god! Heres the not so good stuff: Everything is way overpriced- snorkle equipment drinking water food drinks Hagen Daazetc... Food is not very good #40except for LG Smith Steakhouse Aquarius sucks as does Papagayo on the beach! The food is not good Avoid the cheeseburgers#40mystery meat#41 Beware of the service charges already added on to your food bills! The casinos are impossible because of the rude people who are chain smoking like chimneys showers in the marina hotel are too small #40be careful!#41 Can be a little noisy with cars honking horns and speeding by during the night. We went to Palm Plaza area by taxi for 12 dollars. Food there was a little better. Smokey Joes was really good. Having said that I am still planning on coming back soon! The positives outweigh the negatives for sure!
