Smoky elevators and hallways, broken heat control, air was way too dry. carpeting needs replacing. no shuttle bus to the ski area. resort? i think not.

They should replace the carpets. Maybe I'm out of touch with prices, but for about $$$ a night for a ""room with a view"" I expected something really nice. Instead the hall and room felt kind of dark, our room kind of smelled, and the balcony was just a few feet above the ground. During the winter, that would probably be a nice view, but during the summer it felt like being parked over the access road around the back of the hotel. I upgraded for another $$ or so bucks to a two-level room so we would be higher up and so my 9 year old and her friend would feel like it was a fun place to stay instead of a smallish and kind of dark/smelly room. The two level room was much nicer. Camelbeach was great and close, but for $$$'ish I expected to feel like I was in a spotless and beautiful retreat. The restaurant and its staff were very nice and we had a breakfast buffet.

My car was broken into in the parking lot. The window was broken and items stolen. The hotel security camera was not recording (the ONE security camera). This has happened at this hotel before and the hotel (it is certainly NOT a resort) has not taken steps to ensure that this does not happen again (no security guards, no cameras on the lot). They only warn that they are not responsible for thefts in their parking lot. The management did not offer anything to make up for the lost day of vacation (ordering glass, dealing with insurance company, speaking with the police). No free nights stay, or free meal. In fact they weren't concerned at all and spoke of all of the "city people" moving into the area. They did have maintenance vacuum the glass out of the car, and called the glass company, but that was it. My room was nice (the loft room), but housekeeping does not clean the room while you are there, only empty the garbage, make the bed and exchange towels. This is not a resort, it is a hotel. The pool is cold and has ice cold water pouring into it. The indoor pool was cloudy. I did not book through travelocity, but I thought people should know to lock up their belongings.
